Cala en Porter is in Alaior, south of Menorca, between Cala Binidali and Son Bou. It's an excellent beach for children as it offers many services and high security. It has a lifeguard, and the coast has some buoys that avoid boats getting close to the beach.

It's surrounded by high cliffs, generating a beautiful bay with a beach at the end. The strong north winds don't affect this shore. However, if it blows south winds, maybe you should go to another beach, as there will be big waves. In that case, beaches in the north are the best option.

The beach measures 200 meters long, but it's extensive, surpassing the 50 meters wide in some areas. However, it is not very deep, and the sea is transparent like other beaches in Menorca.

Cala en Porter beach offers showers, bathrooms, hammocks, and a kid's park just in front of the beach so the youngest of the family can play. Above the cliffs is the urbanization of Cala en Porter , which even has more services, making us feel so comfortable.

How to get to Cala en Porter

You can quickly go to Cala en Porter by car or motorbike, although if you don't have one, you can take the public bus.

Cala en Porter by car

It's easy to arrive at Cala en Porter from any area of Menorca. The indications are perfect, mainly once you are close to Alaior.

Usually, it would be best to take the ME-1 road, the main street of Menorca, which goes from Mahon to Ciutadella.

Once you are in Alaior, you should take the deviation to arrive at Cala en Porter, except in Sant Lluis or Mahon, because you can take a shortcut via Sant Climent road (ME-12). These are the distances from the famous places on the island:

• Ciutadella - Cala en Porter, ME-1 (45km).
• Ferreries - Cala en Porter, ME-1 (26km).
• Alaior - Cala en Porter, ME-1 (11,2km).
• Mahón - Cala en Porter, ME-12 (13,6km).
• Sant Lluis - Cala en Porter, ME-12 (16,3km).

By bus

If you don't have a vehicle, you can easily take the bus from Mahón or Alaior. If we are in another place on the island, you first need to transfer to one of these two. We recommend checking the bus timetable of Cala en Porter.

If you are tired of swimming on the superb beach and want to enjoy Cala en Porter nightlife, you are lucky; Cala en Porter has the best disco in Menorca , the famous Cova d'en Xoroi. Cala en Porter has festivities!

Like all the different cities and villages of Menorca, the town has its festivities, which take place on the third weekend of September.

Cala en Porter festivity is not entirely traditional in the Menorca culture, as they started in 1974, while other villages began many years ago.

They celebrate the typical Menorca celebrations with horses, where they try to jump with the horse rider with the animated sound of the Music Band. It takes place the Saturday on the beach and Sunday on the square of Cala en Porter.
