Son Bou beach is in the urbanization of Son Bou and Torre Solí, belonging to the city of Alaior (Menorca).

It is a relatively long beach, about five kilometres of sand, so despite being overcrowded in the months of high season, you can always walk to find a place to put the towel.

Arriving at the end of the beach, you will see that the coast of Son Bou is turning into a nudist beach. If we continue walking, we will arrive at the well-known Binigaus beach.

Its nice sand and completely transparent waters will leave you impressed. Mostly the entire beach is sandy, except for some concrete points where there are some rocks and stones. It is ideal when the tramontana blows as there aren't waves.

You can get there using public transport, from any other city. There are buses approximately every hour.

Son Bou has a public parking lot with hundreds of vehicle spaces if you want to go by car. However, it tends to fill up, so we recommend going early to ensure a place.

Things to do in Son Bou

Son Bou has a lot of activities, a part of the beach and the sun. In addition, it has a piece of Cami de Cavalls, a path that goes around the island and crosses the coast.

You can take a walk there to do something different. It's divided into two parts, the north coast and the south coast. In that case, you're lucky, as the south side is a bit flatter without challenging hills.

On the west side, you will arrive at Santo Tomas, in Es Migjorn. On the other hand, if you go east, you will go to Cala en Porter, a lovely beach from Alaior.

You can visit a Paleochristian basilica as a cultural visit, at the start of the beach. There are pretty interesting archaeological remains!

However, from the east hill of Son Bou, the landscape is even better than on the shore. You can get there through the Cami de Cavalls.

Rent a car in Son Bou

Renting a car is another available service in Son Bou, so we can skip going to the airport if we finally want to rent a car or motorbike. They used to have delivery options.

Tattoos

There is a Tattoo shop if you want to bring a memory from your holidays in Menorca on the skin. But, again, you don't need to move outside.

Son Bou Camping

Camping is an excellent alternative to hotels and villas near the beach. It is 3 kilometres away, but it's the cheapest closest option. It has parcels, villas or areas where you can pitch your tent.

It has a restaurant, showers, pools and a sports area.

Dunes

Walking to the beach's end, where Atalis Beach starts, you will see Son Bou dunes made by terrain erosion with the wind.

They are not very big, and you walk over it is not allowed to avoid damage. This area is known as Albufera de Ses Canessies.

Hawaiian Bar Pub

It's the most famous pub in the area, and you can't miss it. Stylish as a Hawaiian bar, and there's music to take a drink in the hammocks happily. Very much recommend visiting in the afternoon or at night.
