Sant Lluis, in Menorca, added this May 2022 three new beaches to its initiative of no-smoke beaches. This action seeks to make visitors and locals aware of the problem of tobacco and the degradation it causes to the territory.
The Sant Lluis Town Council joined the Balearic Government's suggestion to eradicate tobacco from the islands' sandbanks.

To these, we must add Binisafúller beach; this one was added in 2019 as the first smoke-free beach in Sant Lluis.
This measure was declared on the International Day Against Tobacco, celebrated on May 31. It is not only the topic of the importance of health but also the tiny butts that, willingly or unintentionally, periodically stay on the beaches.
