Sant Lluis already has four smoke-free beaches

Sant Lluis, in Menorca, added this May 2022 three new beaches to its initiative of no-smoke beaches. This action seeks to make visitors and locals aware of the problem of tobacco and the degradation it causes to the territory.

Three new no-smoking beaches in Menorca

The Sant Lluis Town Council joined the Balearic Government's suggestion to eradicate tobacco from the islands' sandbanks.

The new beaches that don't allow smoking are:

To these, we must add Binisafúller beach ; this one was added in 2019 as the first smoke-free beach in Sant Lluis.

This measure was declared on the International Day Against Tobacco , celebrated on May 31. It is not only the topic of the importance of health but also the tiny butts that, willingly or unintentionally, periodically stay on the beaches.
