It's an increasingly common theme, many owners want to go to a beach in Mahón with their dog, and the municipal ordinance truncates their spirit.
The insular political class is open to having more beaches to go with your dog or pet in Mahón.
The problem comes with the tourist season, with a law from 2008. From April to October, dogs are only allowed on the beaches from 8:30 p.m. to 10 a.m. That's a problem for residents with limited leisure time with their pets.
The law is still not approved. But it seems it could be confirmed for next summer, 2023.
Cala Teulera is the only beach within the Port of Mahón. It is a place sheltered from the north wind that offers shelter to many boats.
Sharks are present in Menorca and throughout the Mediterranean Sea. However, the overfishing of the last decades has diminished sharks sightings. Nevertheless, every year there is usually an appearance of a blue shark, normally dying on the shore.
