Santo Tomas is a medium-size beach on the south coast of Menorca. This crescent-shaped shore is gloriously unspoiled, with crystal clear water and lovely white sand.
It's the perfect place for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing in peaceful surroundings. There are a few beach bars and restaurants in the area, making it the perfect spot to spend a lazy day by the sea.
Santo Tomas beach is in the south of Menorca, in the urbanization which has the same name, and belongs to Es Migjorn Gran municipality; a small village on the center of the island.
The beach is urban (but not entirely), with a small promenade which goes from the start to the end. The beach measures 500 meters long per 10 meters height —more than enough to find a place even in the crowd summer months.
However, the beach it's bigger than these 500 meters, it has 2 more beaches next to it that we will tell you later. The total amount is more than 2 kilometres of white sand and turquoise waters.
The beach is a popular destination for British and national tourists during the summer months. However, many Menorcans also reside there in second homes to enjoy this beautiful area of Spain year-round!
Santo Tomas town it's within a touristic area, so it's ready to receive tourism, most-likely familiar tourism.
It has lifeguard, child parks and all kind of restaurants and bars. Furthermore, the hotels offer some entertainment for kids.
Car and motorbike access to Santo Tomas is easy; the town have parking (free) on the entrance. Compared with other remotest beaches like Mongofre or Macarelleta, it's straightforward to go for a quick dip.
The town of Santo Tomas has a variety of beaches, each one unique and with their own distinct character. There is a huge contrast between them, so we recommend visiting them one by one.
No-one will disappoint you, all of them have wonderful blue colours; diving should be mandatory!
It's the primary beach and the most popular in the area. Undoubtedly is the most recommended to go with kids due to its easy-access. Also, it has many services like restaurants, lifeguard and boat renting.
It has a small dock where you will see a boat rental without licence; that's a great plan to do with your family, sail all the beaches by your own.
Binicodrell or Saint Adeodato is another urban beach in St Tomas area; it's a continuation of the main beach. It's divided from the main beach by some rocks (you will see s'Amarador Restaurant at this point).
This beach measures 400 meters long, and it's a bit more narrow than the first one. Binicodrell ends in the small Binicodrell islet. Take note, there is a submarine cave which is outstanding for diving lovers: Sa Cova d'es Colomets.

It's the most popular beach, and it has many small coves with not much sand, this makes this place ideal if you are looking for a quit, relaxing spot!
The waters here are totally turquoise and crystal clear, unlike the last two, this is a totally virgin beach.
This beach doesn't have any of the amenities you'll need for your family and is more suited to adults or couples who want some peace without kids around.
You can reach Sant Tomas beach by three different ways, here we explain to you more.
Going by car is often the best way to visit Menorca, as it will allow you to access the most remote beaches. However, some exceptions exist, such as Santo Tomas, which does not require an auto rental because of its good transport.
But, if you do that, you will save time to do more things. That said, you will need to detour from the ME-1 main road to Es Migjorn Gran, and keep going until reaching Santo Tomas Road. You will need 30 minutes to arrive from Mahón and Ciutadella.
Interestingly, you will find vast ground parking at the beginning of Santo Tomas, on the left side, and it's less than 5 minutes away from the beach.
During the summer there are 2 bus lines that go to Cala Santo Tomas, one from Ciutadella and another from Mahón. It's a good-connected place with the public transport.
It's crucial to double-check the timetables at least the day before , as sometimes it changes.
Menorca is well-known for its Camí de Cavalls hiking trail, which goes around the entire coastline of this island. Santo Tomás, being on that same stretch, makes it an important stop along your adventure if you want some fresh air and Mediterranean views.
You can start this route from Son Bou Beach, by the east. It's a low difficulty trail where you will walk the longest beach of Menorca and some nice cliffs until Santo Tomás.
It's a perfect trail to do in less than an hour.
That is a perfect route to do if you want to see mostly of the south virgin coves. It's a long trail *(about 8 kilometres). *
You will see remarkable beaches like Cala Escorxada or Cala Mitjana.
That's an incredible experience if you want to see all the virgin beaches surrounding St Thomas. It has a tiny dock with a ramp, where boat renting companies launch the small boats.
You don't need to have a licence as their engines are small enough. As a result, you will be able to discover astonishing beaches like Cala Escorxada and Cala Mitjaneta.
