Cala Macarelleta is a small beach that is close to the mean beach. About 10 minutes walk from Cala Macarella. It is a superb option if Cala Macarella is full.
Like its big sister, it has turquoise waters, which make it one of the best beaches in Menorca.
With its 40 meters long and 8 meters wide, it is a mandatory visit to take a photo postcard.
Around this beach, you will find a great area to practice snorkelling, with a great diversity of marine fauna. Sandy areas and Posidonia meadows surround this beach. This alga is partly responsible for the fact that Cala Macarelleta has such transparent and beautiful waters.
The sand goes from the shore to the forest, creating a small dune. There is a fence that prohibits walking over it. It is essential to respect the signs to avoid damaging the ecosystem.
If you want to try a bit of hiking, you are on the indicated beach of Menorca. You have this beautiful dirt road, known as camí de Cavalls, which goes around the whole island, and with which you can climb some hills to take some fantastic photos.
The route to Cala Turqueta is stunning and crosses a relatively narrow dirt road. You will see virgin landscapes and a lot of fauna. The estimated time is 35 minutes at an energetic pace. Remember to bring water and good shoes!
