Cala Mitjana is a beautiful beach in the south face of Menorca , only 20 minutes away from Cala Galdana. If you visited Mallorca, you will know that the neighbour island has also a beach with the same name, but in this article we will talk about Menorca Cala Mitjana.

How to go to Cala Mitjana
Nowadays, there are two ways to get to Cala Mitjana : on foot from the parking on the Cala Galdana road or by boat.
Go to Cala Mitjana by car (+15' walk)
To get to Cala Mitjana parking , you must turn off onto the ME-1 towards Cala Galdana at Ferreries. Just before reaching the first roundabout, you will find the beach parking. It is very well marked.
From the parking, you will keep walking for around 12-15 minutes to the beach. The path to Cala Mitjana is lovely and has pavement , something perfect in case you go with a person with reduced mobility.
A spectacular lush forest surrounds this path. Do not hesitate to take a picture with your camera of the pure nature of Menorca!
There is an alternative route!
You can park in Cala Galdana and take a stretch of Camí de Cavalls to the beach. However, the pathway is a bit longer, around 25 minutes on foot.
It is also well-marked, and the section begins at a non-exit small roundabout.
Cala Mitjana by Boat
The best way to get a good view of Cala Mitjana is by boat. The journey will take you along the coast, past some stunning scenery that's hard (if not impossible)to see from land!
Undoubtedly, going to Cala Mitjana by boat is a unique experience. It is a short trip from Cala Galdana, where you will sail through Menorca's virgin landscapes and cliffs.
In addition, you can explore other nearby beaches that are also very beautiful, such as the famous Cala Macarella or Cala Trebaluger; The latter is renowned for being one of the most inaccessible beaches on the island.
4 tips to visit Cala Mitjana!
- If you are going to spend the day, it is essential to bring enough water and food; Cala Mitjana has no bars or restaurants, as it is an isolated virgin beach.
- It's clever if you go early in the morning , or in the middle of the afternoon, in case you want to visit it in July or August. The best months to visit without overcrowding are May, June and September.
- If the beach is full of bathers and tourists, the best option is to walk to Cala Mitjaneta, about 5 minutes away on foot, which will be probably less crowded.
- Do not forget a snorkel mask; some caves on the left-hand side of the beach are excellent for diving.
